About the race
Nordlo Sentrumsløpet in Haugesund is a fast-paced controlled course of 10 km, with the start and finish line at the town hall square. The race is organized by Haugesund Triathlon Club.
The race is for everyone – beginners, recreational runners and elite runners alike.
The date for this year’s race is Saturday, May 31 and we aim to create a folk festival in the city center both before, during and after the race.

KM
Nordlo Sentrumsløpet is a 10 km street race with two laps of 5 km. Start and finish are at the town hall square in Knut Knutsen O.A.S street. The course runs north through the pedestrian street in Haraldsgaten, around the city park, south via Strandgaten to Indre kai, along Salhusvegen to Karmsund upper secondary school. At the school, the participants turn 180 degrees, continue north and start round two at the town hall square. Roads are closed to traffic, and participants have full access to the course.

Haugesund Triathlon Club was established in 2012 by enthusiastic athletes in Haugesund. The club has grown to become a leading triathlon club in the region, bringing together athletes of all levels from beginners to experienced competitive triathletes. Our vision is to promote the sport of triathlon and inspire people of all ages and backgrounds.
The club’s members have achieved remarkable results nationally and internationally, and we are proud of their commitment to representing the club. We want to be an inclusive community for everyone interested in the sport of triathlon, whether it’s for exercise, health benefits or socializing.
We offer training and support at all levels, as well as arranging social events for members. Through participation in Ironman events between 2012-2019, the club has gained valuable knowledge about the implementation of major events.

Gold certified street race
Sentrumsløpet Haugesund is one of the few races in Norway in 2024 to receive the Gold Certified Street Race quality stamp from the Norwegian Athletics Federation. Gold stamp is the highest certification within NFIF’s quality stamp scheme. Races that have a gold stamp are approved as qualifying races, ranking points, best scores, Norwegian records and world records.
Criteria
- Athletics club affiliated with the Norwegian Athletics Federation is the technical organizer
- The event must be approved and scheduled with NFIF
- Electronic timekeeping = gross time/gun shot
- Control-measured course (A or B) (Post-control for record)
- The race shall be started by firing a starting pistol, air horn or similar equipment
- The start and finish of the course must not be further apart than 50% of the race distance, measured in a straight line between start and finish.
- Medical equipment must be present at the event
- The event must have an authorized chief referee (federal referee)
- A minimum of 95% of the course surface must consist of solid ground
- The event will offer prize money
- The course must not slope more than an average of 1:1000, i.e. 1 m per km (0.1%) from finish to start
